The meeting of the Monitoring Committee
On 25th - 26th March 2013, a meeting of the Monitoring Committee was held. On the first day the former projects of the Foundation for Support of Environmental Initiatives were presented as well as the most important goals of the "NATURA mission" project. On the second day the goals of establishing the Natura 2000 Information Centre and its regulations were discussed. Also the report on current issues related to the implementation and the functioning of the Natura 2000 network in Poland prepared on the basis of broad consultation by the Foundation was presented.
The members of the Monitoring Committee elected a Chairman of the Committee, Mrs. Bożena Kotońska, the Regional Nature Conservator in Krakow. They also approved the final list of the Natura 2000 areas in which the TV series “Mission: Nature” will be made and the areas where the educational and consultation activities will be continued. The final list of 10 such areas of the Natura 2000 was prepared: Dolina Środkowego Bugu, Dolinki Jurajskie, Lubieszynek, Lipickie Mokradła, Zbiornik Turawa, Dolina Kamiennej, Dolina Oleśnicy i Potoku Boguszyckiego, Dorzecze Górnego Sanu, Dolina Pisy, Pasmo Brzanki. There are also three additional areas in case the replacement is needed (Lipienniki w Dąbrowie Górniczej, Dolina Dolnego Sanu, Ostoja Pilska).
The meeting was held within the A6 action of the "NATURA mission" project.
